New Data Added: Development well Success
Lansing-Kansas City, Russell County, Kansas
A series of pre drilling surveys were conducted to evaluate surface
geochemistry on three seismic prospects scheduled for drilling. All three
surveys found positive iodine indications over the drill site and were
considered to have good prospects of success. Two had strong anomalies
with one having a lesser signal. The two stronger signals produced better
wells than the more marginal signal, although all the wells were producers.
Recently a well has been drilled on an analog survey that has produced a
fourth discovery.
Russell County, Kansas  T 12 S, R 13 W Sections 15, 16 and 17
Survey 2, Section 16 East
This survey has a very strong signal around the well and looks like a small structure. The twin wells
to the north produced some oil in the sixties and appear not to have depleted the reservoir.
Survey 3, Section 15 South
New Analog Survey Data
This third area has a mixed picture. It appears to be near an edge while only showing slightly
better than the dry hole to the north. However, the oil well to the southeast, which is a marginal
edge well is even less prospective than this prospect location. This well was successful but not as
good as the two in section 16.
Survey 1
Survey 2
Survey 3
Survey 1, Section 16 West
These are all very high density surveys. Sample spacing is about 100 feet. This first well location
is surrounded by high values and was given a positive evaluation.
New Well
Analog Well
This area was surveyed as an analog for the prospects to the east. A new well has recently been
completed just northwest of the analog in a prospective location.
